A senior researcher named Juhani Smolander, who has completed several studies related to the cold and rheumatoid diseases, found although ice cold swimming doesn’t cure the problem, “it does relieve the symptoms.” Moreover, the psychological effect from immersing oneself in ice cold water helps people feel better, and it may even help insomnia, asthma, and flu symptoms.
